The Aqua Duck ~ Mine on Monday #33

The Aqua Duck is the FIRST and only water coaster at sea. Our family booked this cruise over 15 months ago. We watched it be built, waited and waited and watched some more. We were so excited when they put out the videos about the Aqua Duck. The Aqua Duck was the highlight of the cruise. Especially for our Parker. She rode that ride more than all of us and begged and begged for more. The ride goes along the entire length and back up the other side of the ship. At one point it loops over the ocean. It sounds scary but its not and its very safe. You get a little splashed but not completely wet. At night they have it all lit up with Red, White and Blue lights that circle around the tubes. It’s really pretty. Also on board are a few pools, the Mickey pool (below) the mickey slide, the goofy pool and then a pool for the adults only.

It just so happens that I grew up in a fabulous, little beach town. Of course as a child I had no idea that it was such a special place to live. I thought everyone had a beach across the street from their house. Much of my childhood was spent jumping in the waves, swimming, collecting sea glass, sand between my toes, and being as brown as a coffee bean. I use to beg my mom to apply more sunscreen because I was so tan and just wanted to be fair skinned. Makes me laugh now. Now that we live land locked in Texas I can truly appreciate where I came from. I long to go back and think of the beach and my roots daily. It’s special for me to bring my own kids to my home. They also love the beach and seem their happiest when jumping in the waves and swimming in the ocean.

While we were in FL we spent a few days at a beach club just across from my childhood home. It was so great waking up and playing on the beach at 8am. My dad joined us one morning. They collected sharks teeth and sea glass that day. Rick read his kindle in the sand. This is what I call a day in paradise.

She was up for anything and everything, so that had my head spinning. I LOVE having free range on where to take my seniors. We had a great morning romping around downtown Austin looking for the perfect spots. Jocelyn you’re so much fun! Best of luck to you in college!

Renewal {Austin Family Photographer}

This beautiful couple had a private ceremony for the renewal of their vows on Saturday. What a romantic event after 10 years or more of marriage? And you know what I think one of the best parts about it is? Sharing it with your children, and that is what they did. Their sweet 9 year old twins were a part of the ceremony. They will always remember this moment at their home, in their amazing backyard, watching their parents show their love for each other. Doesn’t get much better than that! Thanks for inviting me to your lovely home again S. family.

You certainly can’t tell from the pictures, but this little guy had us working our tails off for a single smile. We broke out all the tricks and he wasn’t having it! I guess he didn’t find us funny. It all seemed to work out, thanks to a super fast shutter speed for the micro- second of a smile that he gave us. ha!
