Leaving on a Jet Plane…

Rick and I are on our way to Phoenix for his lower extremity conference. I am just tagging along for some R&R at the pool side. I have several books packed and I am ready for the quiet! Did I mention the kids are NOT going with us this time around? We are dropping them in Houston with the G-parents who are ever so gracious to keep our little lambs.
GREAT NEW things happening here at coZy impressions, stay tuned for a big change at the beginning of next week. Think BIG!
I leave you all with this beautiful image from a session I did on Sunday. Oh the beauty of Texas, there is no field here, it seems, without a cool tractor in it. Enjoy… Back on Sunday.

Busy, Fun, Long Weekend

We started this fun weekend out on Friday night. We headed to a friends house out in Lago Vista, where they enjoy this view each and everyday. Imagine that?! Here it is at sunset.
This sweet family has 4 precious little girls, below. Our kids had a great time playing with them.
Their sweet mommy, Heather even made cake! As you can see they were super excited about.
On Sat. Parker and I went to a princess party where she dressed as Cinderella. She did remind me several times that her hair was not yellow. ha! But you know that is now how Rick and I make our babies, they all come out dark. :) We have yet to make a blonde.
On Sat. night we had our good friends, the Hejl’s over for dinner and then swam in our pool. After that the boys got out Rick’s guitar and wanted the daddy’s to sing to us. Then they realized they needed to start a band. So here is Carson on the piano, Griffin on the drums & Mason on the other guitar. It was pretty much just a bunch of noise. April and I just watched on and laughed.
On Sunday night I had a photoshoot (I’ll post on that later). On Monday night we went to our friend Chris & Julie’s house where we ate and the kids swam. Forgot to bring my camera. We had a great time and the kids are recovering today from such a busy weekend.

Bun in the Oven Session

These are our sweet friends we knew back in The Woodlands. She and I were pregnant with our first babies that are only 10 days apart, same doctor, same church etc… They moved to Austin about a year after us and we have enjoyed having some “old friends around”. They are such a sweet family and have a new baby boy on the way. So we did a maternity session with the family and the big brother to be. Which by the way is model material, he was amazing as you will see in all the photos. Thanks H for being so great and going with the flow! There are so many great ones these are just my personal top favorites. If you’d like to see more click the link for the slide show and turn up your volume!

Dallas Visit Part 5

Last Dallas entry:
On Sat. I took the kids back to Scottish Rite. The kids had a playgroup and there was a meeting for parents. We had a lot of fun. There were lots of volunteers to watch the kids and one of them was a girl that was on Barney. She was on the show when she was 11 and she is now 17?? She also has a little arm and on the show her name was Colleen, her real name is Claire. We have those 2 episodes taped on our Tivo. Of course our kids did not recognize her because she is older now.

On Sat. night we met up with Rick’s good friend John & his sweet wife Mary & their 2 children. John and Rick went to HS together back in the day. He was also in our wedding. We went to Pei Wei an asian diner owned by PF Changs. Yummy. Then back to our hotel so all 5 kids could swim. We had a great time and look forward to visiting again.

Grocery Game update

Just an update on how the fun the Grocery Game has been for me.
Last week I spent $120 and saved $74
This week I spent $84 and saved $81
Highlights on the greatest deals this week: free Peter Pan PB, free dog treats (yea for Maggie!!), Lipton tea bags for $.34 a box, 5 boxes of Kellogg’s cereal for $.50 a box (large boxes) & 4 boxes of Quaker Oatmeal for $1 a box. There are many more items but those are just some that come to mind. You are probably laughing about how many of each item I bought. We actually go through all that with 6 very good eaters in our family. :) Besides that, my pantry, fridge and storage closets are full with food, paper goods and lots of other great items. I actually had to clean out some closets to find room to store all the loot. It’s also fun to come home and make Rick guess how much I saved. ha!

The Grocery Game

Looking for a fun way to grocery shop & save a ton of money? Thanks to Shea Lea’s posts about saving money at the store it got me thinking.
So I joined the grocery game along with my friend Cortney.
The one month trial membership is only $1. During that first month you can choose as many stores as you would like for only $1. This is great for me because I was not really sure which stores I wanted to subscribe to each month. I need to figure out which ones will have the best deals and suite my family best.
Right now I am subscribed to HEB, CVS, Randalls & Walgreens. So far I can tell I will not choose HEB because they have their own deals I can do on my own. But the other stores have had some really huge savings and a lot of free stuff as well!
One of the things I like about Terry’s Grocery Game is the easy to read chart format. Each row tells you what’s on sale, how much the regular price is, how much the sale price is, the amount off for the coupon you need to use, which week of the paper it came from, what coupon flyer it came from, how many items you should buy, the percentage off the item is, and if it is an item at rock bottom price that you should stock up on.
I suppose you’re wondering how I did this week. I spent a total of $97 and saved a total of $61. Now I know that’s not that great, but remember I don’t have all the coupons yet, I have only been saving them for 3 weeks now. And I have a large family. :) So spending only $97 is actually good in my case!
If you would like to join The Grocery Game, I would suggest that you begin collecting the Sunday paper coupons first for about 2 weeks. Go to the site and learn more. The idea is to stock up on stuff even when you don’t need it, and within 12 weeks you will have a full pantry & will only need to buy the staples each week at the store.

And the Winner is…

Mat & Beth!! Congratulations on winning the Image of the Year contest.
You will receive an 8×10 of your winning photo.

New CoZy Storyboards…

I am now offering storyboards to my Cozy clients. Here are a few to taste. All story boards come in 20Lx10W and are $100. The great thing about story boards is you are able to display 1-5 photos in one space with no need for a mat, not to mention the pretty backgrounds. All storyboards are customized to your liking by me. There are many, many backgrounds to choose from these are just a couple I have been working on.
