The Grocery Game

Looking for a fun way to grocery shop & save a ton of money? Thanks to Shea Lea’s posts about saving money at the store it got me thinking.
So I joined the grocery game along with my friend Cortney.
The one month trial membership is only $1. During that first month you can choose as many stores as you would like for only $1. This is great for me because I was not really sure which stores I wanted to subscribe to each month. I need to figure out which ones will have the best deals and suite my family best.
Right now I am subscribed to HEB, CVS, Randalls & Walgreens. So far I can tell I will not choose HEB because they have their own deals I can do on my own. But the other stores have had some really huge savings and a lot of free stuff as well!
One of the things I like about Terry’s Grocery Game is the easy to read chart format. Each row tells you what’s on sale, how much the regular price is, how much the sale price is, the amount off for the coupon you need to use, which week of the paper it came from, what coupon flyer it came from, how many items you should buy, the percentage off the item is, and if it is an item at rock bottom price that you should stock up on.
I suppose you’re wondering how I did this week. I spent a total of $97 and saved a total of $61. Now I know that’s not that great, but remember I don’t have all the coupons yet, I have only been saving them for 3 weeks now. And I have a large family. :) So spending only $97 is actually good in my case!
If you would like to join The Grocery Game, I would suggest that you begin collecting the Sunday paper coupons first for about 2 weeks. Go to the site and learn more. The idea is to stock up on stuff even when you don’t need it, and within 12 weeks you will have a full pantry & will only need to buy the staples each week at the store.

A Day in the Life of….

The kids and I took Maggie, our shaved Golden Retriever, to the lake to swim today. I brought along my camera to capture what an hour of my day looks like. 4 kids, and a fantastic dog,60 degrees with not a cloud in the sky. It doesn’t get much better than this. I am thankful everyday to Rick, my amazing husband, for providing for our family so that I can spend everyday & every moment with our children. I am thankful that I don’t have to miss one singe milestone they make or one single boo boo. I would not have it any other way.

And the Winner is…

Mat & Beth!! Congratulations on winning the Image of the Year contest.
You will receive an 8×10 of your winning photo.

UT Photo Shoot, Warpula Family

On Saturday we took the kids to the UT campus for a mini photo shoot. Its been about 4 months since we’ve done any family shots. We had a great time. I am working on the slide show and plan on posting it tonight.

Home Depot Sat.

I think I’ve posted before about Home Depot Saturdays, but I will recap for those of you who don’t know about it. Home Depot is great. The first Sat. of every month from 9-12 they have a FREE kids project. Rick has been taking the big boys for about 8 months now. They give them a HD apron to wear & when they complete the project they receive a pin in the shape of the project. Its pretty neat. Then they bring the items home and we paint them. This month the project was a castle bank. It’s like a mini magic kingdom. Pretty cute. Well Rick took them and the guy said, “This one is really hard, the parents are all struggling just take them home and do them there”. So he came home and pulled his car out of the garage and set up a “work shop”. It was so cute, he had all 4 out there while he struggled to build these castles. I even tried to help but gave up and went back inside. Rick’s exact quote “If every month’s craft was like this, we wouldn’t go back!” I guess it was a rough one.
Last month I did not post about HD because I went alone with all 4 kids and it was a nightmare!! Rick had a work thing going on & I didn’t want them to miss out. So I took them. Building is not my gift. Carson went over to the man and said “my mom doesn’t know what she’s doing, can you help her?” How funny is that? Then he told me “Mom your great, but Daddy is better at this” It’s true. My talents are elsewhere.

No painting in your clothes! Don’t want to ruin them. :)

Out to Dinner

We had a fun filled day here in Austin. We took the kids to the UT campus for a mini photo shoot. I was scouting out new places and found a great one!! I will post those later. This is us out to dinner tonight in South Austin. We left N Austin and ventured south. Its hard to choose a new place when you are with 4 hungry kids, Carson reminded us every 5 seconds that he was hungry. For those of you that don’t know Austin, there is about 45 min. to a 1 hour drive time to get from the N to the S.
This is what it looks like when our family eats out. Yes it is a bit chaotic. We not only take up a ton of space but we are loud, well not Rick and I we mind our manors, and tend to leave a big mess.

Mathews Family Continuted…

For all your Harding University readers… This family went to Harding with Rick back in the day. Danny is now a professor at the University. He and his sweet wife have 3 adorable boys. Here are a few of their family.

Mathews Family Session Part 1

These are our great friends in The Woodlands, the ones with the triplets in their arms. This was a few weeks ago in The Woodlands. This family was full of sweet kids from 9yrs old down to 10 months old. I took some of each family EXCEPT for Greg & Misty’s. They had just had some beach shots done before Christmas. So if you are wondering where they are…
Click the slide show link below for more photos. Be sure to turn on your volume.

How sweet are those babies in the bucket?! Adorable. We had to put them in there to contain them, they were crawling all over the place. Brings back old memories of my twins when they were just little babes. It goes by way too fast so capture your moments everyone!!

New CoZy Storyboards…

I am now offering storyboards to my Cozy clients. Here are a few to taste. All story boards come in 20Lx10W and are $100. The great thing about story boards is you are able to display 1-5 photos in one space with no need for a mat, not to mention the pretty backgrounds. All storyboards are customized to your liking by me. There are many, many backgrounds to choose from these are just a couple I have been working on.
